Rules & Regulations – Deepsikha Nursing Institute

“Deepsikha Nursing Institute is committed to providing a disciplined and conducive learning environment for all our GNM and B.Sc. Nursing students. These rules and regulations are designed to ensure a smooth academic journey, maintain a safe and respectful campus, and foster professional conduct. All students are expected to adhere to these guidelines throughout their time at the institute.”

1. Attendance & Discipline

Students must maintain a minimum 80% attendance in both theory and practical sessions to be eligible for examinations. Punctuality is mandatory, and students must report to classes, clinical training, and other academic activities on time. Any act of misconduct, indiscipline, or violation of institute norms will lead to strict action, including suspension or termination.

2. Academic Performance

All students must regularly attend classes, participate in assessments, and submit assignments within the given deadlines. A minimum passing percentage as per the university guidelines must be secured in each subject. Any form of malpractice during exams will result in immediate disciplinary action.

3. Clinical Training Guidelines

Students must strictly follow the dress code while attending hospital/clinical postings. They are expected to maintain professional behavior, ethical conduct, and patient confidentiality. Any negligence or improper behavior during clinical training will not be tolerated.

4. Uniform & Dress Code

Students must wear the prescribed uniform at all times during college hours and clinical postings. They must maintain personal hygiene, a neat appearance, and avoid excessive jewelry or makeup. Any deviation from the dress code will not be tolerated.

5. Hostel Rules (For Residential Students)

Hostel students must abide by the following rules:

  • Entry and exit must be within the allotted time.
  • Visitors are allowed only with prior permission.
  • Ragging, bullying, or any form of misconduct will result in expulsion.
  • Cleanliness and discipline must be maintained in hostel premises.
  • Strict prohibition of ragging, alcohol, drugs, and smoking within hostel premises.

6. Code of Conduct

Students must respect faculty members, staff, and fellow students. The use of alcohol, drugs, smoking, or any illegal activity on campus is strictly prohibited. Student found violating this rule will face immediate suspension or legal action. Any damage to college property must be compensated by the student.

7. Fees & Payments

Students must pay their fees on time as per the institute’s guidelines. Late fees may attract penalties, and failure to pay dues within the deadline may result in restricted access to classes, exams, and other academic activities.

8. Library & Study Resources

The library should be used for academic purposes only. Books must be returned within the due date, and any damage or loss of library materials will incur a fine. Maintaining silence in the library is mandatory.

9. Leave & Absence Policy

Students must submit a written application to the respective faculty for any leave. Absence for more than 3 consecutive days requires medical proof or valid documentation. Unapproved leaves will result in academic penalties.

10. Anti-Ragging Policy

Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited inside and outside the campus. Any student found guilty of ragging will face severe disciplinary actions, including expulsion and legal consequences. The institute follows UGC and INC (Indian Nursing Council) guidelines on anti-ragging policies.
